I just got this lamp an hour ago, and wasted no time setting it up. Setup is simple and took only a few minutes. There were no surprises.The lamp has a circular base measuring 8 1/16 inches or 154 mm in diameter. I had assumed that the base was a hollow box of plastic or light gauge metal. I was surprised at how hefty it is, perhaps two pounds. It has some real weight to it. The bottom is flat with a slight plastic edge around the circumference. A few rubber feet would have been nice, but it shouldn't damage wooden surfaces.I quickly discovered that the despite the hefty base, the lamp is incapable of being extended off axis without tipping. You must keep the lamp within approximately six inches or 15 cm of the bases center axis. If you need the lamp to lean outward you will probably find that it won't remain upright. Fortunately, the clamp style base worked for my needs and it will allow the lamp to extend somewhat. I measured the clamp and it's maximum opening is about 1 7/8 inches or 46 mm. It fully closes to zero gap.One item caused me a bit of confusion. The Amazon page indicated that the lamp uses an E27 socket. but here in North America light bulbs are E26. I had to do a bit of Google research. It turns out that the sockets differ by only one millimeter and are mechanically interchangeable. The E27 socket is aimed at European voltages of about 240 volts and the E26 socket assumes 120 volts. As long as the current is correct for the bulb rating, there is no problem.The bulbs that I'm using are Great Eagle LED bulbs, rated as 15 watts (equivalent to nearly 100 watts incandecent). I chose a color temperature of 4000 Kelvin, since this is a clean white light well suited to reading and fine detail work. The lamp produces a fairly small circle of illumination, because of it's low profile, but the light is bright and just what I wanted for a bedside reading lamp rather than a more conventional low table lamp.The cord is perhaps six feet (I should have measured it), and rather flimsy in wire gauge, but no doubt adequate for ones needs. I feel that limited stability aside, this lamp is a good value.Great light, comes right over the top of my computer. Has different light settings, I work from home and this is awesomeThis task lamp filled my needs for a utility light fixture for a work area. Good value and one can use the LED lamp of choice or brightness and color temperature. The big negative is my lamp did not have dimples on the lamp body that the indented grooves on the shade would match to secure it. As a result the shade kept falling off only retained by the light bulb, not great! I fixed mine with a drilled hole and setscrew rather than spend time sending it back and waiting for a replacement. I hope this was a manufacturing oversight and not a real part of the design.Works as expectedI needed a light for close guitar work, done, work bench soldering work, done. And a third light on the breakfast nook, it's used for wife's crossword puzzles, reading light and finally the low setting is a perfect night light. Warning! it has a USB connector. fortunately I've got one on the indoor guitar bench. also the same power strip for the amp bench in the garage and in the breakfast nook also, too.my lamp is all plastic, even the clamp. i bought it to use with a small movable computer table so the lighter plastic is actually better for me. also the 'power outlet' plugs into your computer not an electrical outlet; also a surprise, but better for my movable computer set up. the other difference is theres no light bulb, but a panel screwed over led lights. they look great and are able to be dimmed, but not to my knowledge able to be replaced.....so disposable lamp? i will be sad when they burn out it is perfect for my set up. (looking back i ordered the 'wrong' one - i looked at so many - so i shouldn't have been surprised but still very happy that i ended up with this one.)!This is what I was looking for. The only thing i can see I would do different if i was making this lamp would be have a longer cord. I like the fact you can dim the light to your desired brightness....it is the right height for a desk for the lamp to be usable.impossible d'orienter la lampe . Ne vaut absolument pas le prix !!!!j'ai mis une étoile pour ma responsabilité .We needed a swing arm lamp that was highly adjustable but I didn't want to spend a lot of money. I'm very impressed with this lamp! The base and swing arms and everything feels very sturdy and good quality. Great range of motion as well. Perfect!The base is not heavy enough to handle a long extension.The tightening of the lamp is not strong enough to hold the lamp in position and let’s go.You get what you pay for and I would spend more money to get a better unit. I would also buy it at a store so I can test the unit so I don’t have the problems listed above.Product came dented. Springs literally popping off lamp as they are not coiled tight enough. Lamp thus would keep its position. Weight also wobbles and doesn’t stay firmly planted on desk. Terrible quality.My only issue is that the lamp head cannot be held in place. The screw seems to be defective so that’s unfortunate. Easy fix
