I give it two stars because I am too tired to work up the hate that one star requires. This chair is inexpensive, relatively, but you can see it in every aspect of the build. It's easy to assemble and the cushion is comfortable for an hour or so at a time but it not a chair for my home office. It broke in oh so many ways within months of purchasing it: first the gas cylinder refused to lock in place and would slide down slowly every time I sat in it; second, the easily assembled chair easily disassembled certain parts of itself--the bolts would just fall out. I figured, it was roughly a hundred bucks, I can usually repair items so I would give it a try.I got a new heavy duty gas cylinder and tried to disassemble the chair--this is when it displayed the confounding ability to resist all attempts to take it apart. Sure the bolts would fall out, but the gas lift was firmly embedded in the assembly that attached to the seat. Drill, Dremel, heat source I do not wish to go into details about and hammer-time later, still stuck. And the bolt that holds the lift assembly together is a bolt whose head was intentional welded in place to make it difficult to take apart, apparently. So now I have 4 sections of the chair, an okay 2 part top and a banal but serviceable wheel assembly, with a heavy duty gas lift, which I suppose I could use like some sort of (possibly apocryphal) Vlad the Impaler chair, with a gas cylinder stuck in my gas cylinder so to speak (not sure how the lift would work with that), which I can throw away or spend several more hours fashioning a new attachment plate for then welding into place. Any item that requires me to fire up welding equipment is a mixed bag--I am excited to be wielding a device that might take down a slow moving terminator if it face the other way but disappointed the entire thing does not come easily apart with each piece being sold separately for easy repair.I admit to not being a waif, I am about 240lbs and have the ... I hesitate to affix the judgement of "bad" ... habit of breaking every tool and non electronic device I touch unless it is made of titanium carbon fiber and magic, but I really don't think I did anything beyond the normal "sitting" one might expect a chair to tolerate. And my ever sunny and optimistic outlook has been slightly clouded by the experience of tossing good money after bad in trying to fix the chair. Which now has cost me about 150 and 6 hours of my time which I normally use to feed the gimp I keep in a well in the basement and showering him with a fire hose. Now the Gimp is dirty, and hungry, I am disappointed and the Steelcase Leap and Herman Miller chairs don't seem that bad price-wise when I factor in how much I will have to spend replacing a cheap chair once a year.Assuming you, the potential buyer, are a modified tetraped, or biped as humans like to refer to themselves, that weighs more than 180 pouunds and are 6 ft or so tall, avoid this chair.Nice chair. It's quite attractive and seems sturdy, the upholstery seems rugged. It's a reasonable price-point. I like it.If the manufacturer could post the assembly instructions in a more conspicuous place, say attached to the seat back or bottom, it might alleviate some otherwise needless consternation on the part of the consumer, mainly time spent assembling the chair, and misunderstanding about how to operate it. I'm really not all-thumbs when it comes to assembling things, and this is not a hard thing to assemble, at all. But the height adjustment is not intuitive to those of us used to pulling UP on the lever underneath the seat, as it is with most office chairs. With this chair, you push DOWN on the lever underneath the seat. The tilt mechanism is also very simple, although, again, not necessarily intuitive. Unless you read the instructions (which I accidentally discarded with the various pieces of packaging refuse) you might spend a long time thinking that this chair will not tilt, as described, as did I... It does tilt, it tilts quite a lot; you have to pull OUT on that same lever underneath the seat that you use to adjust the height. That's about it. There isn't a heck of a lot else to say about a standard office chair, albeit a reasonably nice one. The manufacturer offers a lifetime warranty on this product. My initial impression is that I probably won't have to pursue that warranty offer at a later date. But if I do, my purchase receipt is neatly tucked away in my Amazon account records. Its comfortable but I could not find a way to increase back support as far forward as I want.It is well made but very plain.Confortable chair. 100% recommended. The chair is too big. Make sure you check the dimensions. I'm 5'6", 140lbs, and the chair is made for a much bigger person. This would not be ergonomic and comfortable for me because of the size. Also, the chair I got was stuck on the lower position and it would not rise. Aside from that, it is a good quality chair; sturdy and strong.Excellent professional quality chair. Very sturdy and well built and the fabric is very comfortable. I sit on it for hours and hours at my computer desk. For the price I don't think you can find anything even close--this chair is much more comfortable than much more expensive brand name chairs. Tilting mechanism is smooth and silent and very effective. Lumbar support is fine--unlike many inexpensive office chairs, this chair doesn't have complex cushion shapes which invariably end up being uncomfortable. Buy this chair and you won't be disappointed. I'm sitting in it now!I had to have a new desk chair because my back was killing me. This chair is good; I use a small back roll with it and my pain is nearly gone. I spend much time at my desk so it's important that my chair be ergonomically correct.Very durable chair, feels comfortable and should have enough padding for most people.Easy to assemble. The only thing i would change are the casters. They don't seem as durable and don't glide well (on plastic mat).I replaced it with AXL roller blade style wheels which glide better.I have had it for about 2 years, still looks just as good as new. We've had 2 of these chairs for a few years now and with daily use and abuse, they keep working and looking just fine. We now purchased 2 more and they match just fine. They came quickly, well packed and super easy to assemble. The only tool needed is an allen wrench and that is included in the box!!!!smooth roller, comfortable, easy to assemble. good quality for the price
